Frequently asked questions

What is KickStart?

KickStart is a way to quickly take a form idea from 0 to 80% in a matter of seconds. It is intended to supplement your workflow as an easy launch point for new FormKit forms.

What do I do with my KickStart forms?

Forms can be copied and pasted into your projects as Vue components or FormKit Schema. Once you have a good starting point from KickStart, the intention is for further customization and integration to happen within your relevant project.

Does KickStart host my forms for me?

No. KickStart is for easy creation and export for developers — it is not a form hosting solution.

Do I need a FormKit Pro license to use KickStart?

If your final form created by KickStart includes FormKit Pro Inputs then you will need an active FormKit Pro license in your project. Pro inputs can be disabled on the form generation screen.

You can learn more about FormKit Pro here.

Can KickStart be used to migrate existing forms?

Absolutely! That's one of its best use cases. With KickStart you can provide a source reference for your existing form (such as a screenshot or a schema file) and use that as context for your prompt.

What are the limits for a paid plan?

In typical scenarios a paid plan will equate to "unlimited" usage. Account limits are in place to protect FormKit from potential abuse such as log-in sharing. We estimate that a paid plan will be able to generate about 200 forms per month without hitting any account limits. You'd need to be really in to form generation to hit that limit as a standard user.

However, if you find that your account needs a higher limit you can reach out to kickstart@formkit.com for a custom plan.
